Advanced Micro Solutions was originally incorporated as Edmond Software, Inc. in 1985. Edmond Software, based in Edmond,Oklahoma, was started by a software engineer and a CPA that saw a need for a payroll/W-2/1099 program that would cover the entire spectrum of payroll related processing, from W-2/1099 preparation, to after-the-fact payroll, to live payroll, for small to large clients.

In 1986 the first version of the product was developed and marketed to accounting firms, nationally. The company grew rapidly from two employees and a few hundred customers in 1986 to 15 employees with over 12,000 loyal customers today. The company has grown into a nationally respected payroll software company that continues to develop, improve and market one of the best-rated payroll software packages for professional tax preparers.
