This is great software and it's worth every penny!
2011 Version E-4.5 Uploaded!
A new version of the 2011 software has been uploaded to the 1099-etc.com website. You can now download this version as a full or differential update. Here is what is new with version E-4.5:
General Information
Backup, Restore or Copy
In certain situations, on large drives, the Backup/Restore and Copy functions would fail. This has been corrected.
W-2/1099 Forms
1099-INT - Copy A
The pre-printed 1099-INT Copy A form provided by the IRS was scaled down when printed and therefore caused alignment issues. AMS has updated Print Mode 2 - HP Laser Printer (pre-printed forms) so that the IRS' 1099-INT form, with the new alignment settings, can be printed.
W-2 Dot-Matrix Form - 2-Up 2-Wide
On the Dot-Matrix 2-up 2-Wide forms, when there were two locals on the left side, Local 2 was overprinting Local 1. This has been corrected.
A-T-F Payroll
940 E-Filing
If the Payer's Phone Number was blank, an error would occur when e-filing the 940 form. The program has been updated to use the Signer's phone number when the Payer's Phone Number is blank.
940 Worksheet
In certain situations, the 940 worksheet was displaying even though it was not needed. This has been corrected.
Florida - State Quarterly E-File
In some cases, the State UI number was not being included in the Florida State Quarterly electronic file. This has been corrected.
Maryland
When calculating a 1099 Payment check in Maryland and calculating SITW, a Range Check Error would occur. This has been corrected.
Minnesota
Minnesota requires a 4-digit Worksite Number for each employee. To use the Employee's Dept Code as the Worksite Number, place a check in Report Multiple Depts on the Information for Minnesota screen that appears when printing the State Quarterly Returns. Otherwise, the program will use the Employer's Unit Code.
Oregon - Tax Tables
A new State Withholding Tax Table, AUTO, has been added. AUTO determines which State Tax Table to use, when calculating SITW, based on the annualized Wages, Exemptions and Marital Status.
Report A
Report A was using SUTA Liability as a gauge for all Employee's being SUTA exempt or not. If the payer was subject to SUTA but had a 0% rate, this would be incorrect. Now Report A looks at each EEs SUTA Exempt flag to determine if all EE's are exempt or not.
Report C
If the Number of Checks was not included on Report C, the columns were not aligned correctly. This has been fixed.
Schedule H
The Schedule H client letter was not including the FUTA Credit Reduction in the quarterly summary for the 4th quarter. This has been corrected.
Forms-Etc
Form
The following form has been updated:
Mississippi - Annual 1099 Information Return
Railroad Retirement - CT-1 Form
The employee rate on line 4 was calculating using the wrong rate (.062). The form has been updated with the new rate for Line 4 (.042).
Also, Line 15 was not calculating correctly. This has been fixed.
E-Filing Services
The Retrieve Menu on E-Filing Services' Payment Status screen was not being displayed. This has been corrected.
