What is the best method of migrating your program/data from one machine to another? Can we simply copy the program folder or should we reinstall the program on the new servers and then copy the client folders?

Since the program does not make any registry entries, you can simply copy the folders from one machine to another.

If you do not use a separate folder for your Payer data then you may simply copy this one folder over to transfer the program to the new machine. If you save your payer data in a separate folder, you will need to copy the data folder to the new machine separately and then change the work directory within the new software to access the data.

You may also install the software to the new server for each tax year, and then do a Backup from Utilitiesof that year’s software. Save the backup to a floppy diskette and then restore the backup from the diskette to the new machine using the Restore function that is under Utilities on the Main Menu.
