I am currently using Great Plains Accounting software and was planning on exporting my 1099 info to Excel then importing into 1099 Etc. Will this work?

Yes. Data in Excel will need to be saved as a Tab Delimited Text file. Then at the 1099-Etc Main Menu, select Utilities>Import Assistant>Import from a Tab Delimited Text File, you will associate the columns with the various form fields. Once this is done, the data can then be imported.
