I just installed the early 4th quarter version of 1099-Etc. Is it ok to go ahead and enter 1099 recipient information and then update to the final version later?

Yes, once you input the data, it is stored in the program. This data isn't overwritten when new versions are installed. This way, you can stay current and you don't need to re-key your data whenever you update.
