How to set the program up so that the decimal point is automatically entered?

You will need to enable the Implied Decimal Setting, select Options>Settings>Implied Decimal from either the W-2/1099 Forms Filer Menu, the AMS Payroll Menu, or the Forms Filer Plus Menu.
